Skype for Business 2015 with Exchange Archiving. The step you probably missed

Hello Readers

When enabling Skype for Business Archiving with Exchange 2013, you need to ensure you complete the following steps if the customer doesnt have in-place eDiscovery and Hold enabled. As Skype for Business Server 2015 uses the Exchange legal hold policy to determine whether to archive the Lync data for users, you will need to configure the mailboxes for users.

Launch your Exchange Admin Center

Select compliance management and then in-place eDiscovery & hold. Click the + to add

If you was doing it based on per mailbox you will have to tick “Place content matching the search query in selected mailboxes on hold” then specify whether to Hold indefinitely or Specify number of days

The mailboxes selected are now on hold

And all Archiving information will be stored in Exchange
