Lync Client displaying wrong name for a contact


This is an interesting one I have come across recently whereby a Lync DDI that has been reused for a new user is picking up the name of the past user as seen below

The user actual name is “Mo” and not “Nick”

A couple of users have reported the issue to me and upon my investigate the fix seemed to be as followed;

  1. Log Out of Lync Client
  2. Open Outlook Contacts
  3. Delete Nicholas Evans from the Contacts Folder
  4. Sign back into Lync Client
The main reason behind this also is that all users contacts are pushed out to Lync Clients via the AddLyncContacts.vbs and the contact card for “Nick” didnt update from AD when the number was removed.
