New LifeSize Firmware 4.11.9 Lync and OCS bits

Hello Readers,

Just a quick post today about the latest firmware from LifeSize for the Room 220. The only outstanding Lync/OCS fixes/workarounds in this firmware are;

Known Issues

  • G.722.1 is only supported for use with OCS and LifeSize Connections
  • LifeSize Connections automatically becomes enabled when attempting to re-register with OCS
Product Limitations
  • OCS registration might fail from the web administration interface. Workaround: Register from the main screen interface of your video system.
  • System registered to OCS only supports TCP transport for incoming call. Incoming calls from non-OCS Clients will fail.

I haven’t seen any update from LifeSize about Lync/OCS Address Book integration but I will look at chasing  LifeSize to see if there is a time frame of when this will be available, I would hope it is available for the Microsoft Lync Conference in February. As it will allow LifeSize to show more of the product integration with Lync.
Just had a quick thought to myself??? Is the LifeSize firmware tested or being qualified for Lync 2013??? I will ask the question. As for myself I would like to move my customer to Lync 2013 after Ive got the nod from all the relevant parties.
I would also like to say its good to see LifeSize supporting the 1st Lync Conference as a Silver Sponsor, I just wish I was able to attend 🙁 maybe next yearOn the other hand the Lync half of the The UC Architects will be attending so make sure you say Hello to the guys
