Office 365 Click to Run ExcludeApp ID – Finally we can stop components being installed

Hello Readers

I don’t know about yourselves but I have been crying for this feature since I had to roll out Click to Run to a customer who had requirements for Office365 ProPlus but without “Access” being installed for example. It is good that Microsoft how now released an update with allow IT Professionals the ability to tailor the deployment of Office365 ProPlus to the customers requirements without having to use AppLocker to stop the applications being launched. I am yet to work with a customer who uses AppLocker.

So the announcement url is;

The configuration.xml now supports the command ExcludeApp ID

I will look at how this affect existing Click to Run deployments in a new blog post about the Click to Run Deployment Process. So make sure you follow my blog/twitter for this new post when it gets released

Regards
