Failed to extend the Active Directory schema for SCCM 2012 SP1

Hello Readers,

I have recently been working with SCCM 2012 SP1 deployment and ran into the following error when extending the Schema for SCCM.

<12-18-2013 16:03:46> Failed to extend the Active Directory schema, please find details in “C:\ExtADSch.log”.

This issue was cause because the Extend Schema process was being action on the DC which doesnt hold the FMSO Role. You can confirm which DC you should be using by running the following command

netdom /query fsmo
